When the Phone Rings, We Answer!

Hello, Marcus here,

The other night, my phone rang at 8:30 p.m. I was busy. I was going to let the call go to voicemail, but I answered. Margaret, one of our homeless clients, was in distress. At the end of her workday, she was notified that her temporary shelter with her friend was not available. Her friend had an emergency call to go into work. So, Margaret was stranded.

She expressed that she was tired and worried about getting rest before going to her job in the morning. Although she said that she would be okay, if I could not help her; I discerned the pain in her voice.

Our partners, meaning you, provided her with a safe place, a comfortable bed, bathroom, shower, peace of mind, and sleep. Thank you for being the ones who care enough to give. No gift is too small to bring hope, love, and safety to our homeless women. -Marcus M. Martin
